The Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens Nikon AE is for use with Nikon AE APS-C format DSLR cameras. This Samyang 16mm lens is a wide angle lens which will incorporate a large amount of the image into the frame.
This lens helps to exaggerate the perspective of objects and offers a great depth of field, which is highly valued within landscape photography. The Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens Nikon AE has a viewing angle of 83.1 ° and is the perfect tool for interior photography, landscape photography, panoramic views or for shooting monuments. Shoot wide areas of the stars or highlight the outlines in cloud compositions.

Product features:
- The UMC lens coatings will allow even light transmission and decreases ghosting and flare.
- Wide angle focal length equal to 24mm in the 35mm format.
- Fast f/2.0 maximum aperture for efficient low light shooting and shallow depth of field
- Aspherical and extra-low dispersion lens elements decrease aberrations.
This extra bright lens with a maximum aperture of f/2. 0 uses an 8 blade diaphragm that forms an almost perfect circle, this enables us to obtain a nice blurred background, known as the Bokeh effect. The minimum focusing distance of this wide angle lens is 0.2m and its large f/2.0 aperture means the lens will work well in low light conditions. Wide-angle scenes can contain many objects at different distances, this tends to draw the viewer into the frame.
Ultra-wide angle lenses exaggerate the depth of field, this tends to make background objects appear further from the foreground than they actually are. On cropped sensor lenses, a 30-35mm focal length provides what is called a normal Field of View, which is roughly the equivalent as to what the human eye sees. At 18mm, the Field of View is almost twice as wide and you can fit alot of things into the frame. At 12mm, you get 50% more FOV and so on.

The optics of the Samyang lens is 13 elements arranged in 11 groups and it features a low dispersion ED element, an aspheric optical element and hybrid aspherical glass elements to improve the quality and the contrast of photos, this ensures optimum light transmission and provides accurate colour reproduction, this wide-angle Samyang lens has been subjected to a multilayer anti-reflective coating (UMC).
The focus ring is smooth and large and has a very nice feel to it, using a small aperture ring this lens might be slightly softer on the edges, but it is still pretty sharp and impressive even when not taking into account its low price. The Samyang 16mm has been designed down to the smallest detail and manufactured with top quality materials
