Generally the Canon JJC MA-A is  used to avoid the vibrations that arise whenever you release the shutter of the camera. The Canon JJC MA-A is stylish, easy to carry and enables you to trip the shutter control on the camera without needing to touch the shutter release, helping to protect against blurry images and vibration. The JJC MA-A Trigger cable is also employed in long exposure photographs.

Pushing the shutter switch halfway controls the cameras focus (like if you push the shutter release halfway) if pressing it to the end it takes the shot. With regard to long exposures or continuous exposure burst shooting, push the switch towards the end and it glides into the lock position; to unlock it, the switch is slid to the original position.
