Description
Details
The Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS IF UMC Wide Angle Lens Sony E is a bright compact lens, lightweight and designed specifically for Sony E cameras with APS-C and full-frame sensor. This wide-angle Samyang lens is a bright lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4 which is ideal for shooting in low light. It is an ideal lens for architectural, landscape, interior and panoramic photography.
This Samyang manual focus wide angle lens can certainly get a lot of the image in to the frame, offering a great depth of field, it tends to exaggerate the perspective of subjects.
A wide angle lens is a must for photographs of landscapes, monuments, buildings, interiors and panoramic views when it´s difficult to include the whole scene in the composition. The lens provides a angle of view of 84° in cameras that use full-frame sensor. The minimum focusing distance of this Samyang wide-angle is 0.25m.

The high brightness of the Samyang 24mm lens allows the camera operator to capture in dimly lit circumstances and expands the possibilities to catch creative compositions. The brightness of this lens has a maximum aperture of f/1.4, in combination with a diaphragm of 8 blades (forming an almost perfect circle) the lens also allows provides a superb bokeh (background blur) effect.
A common mistake people can make is they think wide-angle lenses are mainly used when you cannot get far enough away from the subject, yet want to capture all of the subject in to one single camera frame. Yet, if you were to only use it for this type of shot you would be missing out. Wide angle lenses are commonly used for just the opposite, sometimes when you would like to get closer to a subject.

The optics of the Samyang 24mm wide angle lens comprises of 13 elements arranged in to 12 groups with a further 4 low dispersion elements, to reduce chromatic aberrations and two aspherical elements to help avoid spherical aberrations. The lens has multiple layers of anti-reflective coating (UMC) to provide optimum light transmission, improve quality, contrast and provides accurate precise colour reproduction.
A wide angle of view signifies that equally the relative size and distance is exaggerated if observing near and far objects. This makes objects nearby seem huge, and objects far away seem unusually tiny and distant, as with all wide angle lenses the closer you are, the bigger the subject will appear in the frame and the more impact the photo will have.
