Digitally Integrated Design (Di), is a designation Tamron placed on lenses offering optical systems developed to satisfy the performance attributes of digital SLR cameras. An advanced optical design integrating special LD glass and internal focusing (IF),  gives a convenient Filter Effect Control (FEC) ring for adapting polarizing filters and an AF/MF ring for simple change overs from manual to auto-focus.

The option to move easily between auto-focus (AF) and manual-focus (MF) is a huge asset in all forms of shooting, particularly sports and nature photography. This is made possible with Tamron’s innovative AF/MF system. Simply by sliding the focus ring back and forth between the two positions you can choose either the AF or MF focusing position.

This Tamron SP AF 180mm f/3.5 DI Macro lens permits life-size image on the negative or slide; at a distance of 47 cm. This is an ideal Macro lens for close-up work in the studio or out in the field.
